INDIVIDUAL REPORT #3: Reading

(by: Dimas Purnama Adi Wicaksono, an UKSW student).

Greetings, my beloved blog readers! What's up? I hope everything goes well with you. In this particular chance, I'd like to share and tell you about the story that I've read a few hours ago. Well, it's not really a story since it's from mythology, but it was very touching and heartwarming to read. The title is: "Cupid and Psyche". And as per usual, I picked the story from er-central. It's a story that was written by CompassMedia, has 651 words, and has 19.25 literature levels. The story starts with Venus' jealousy of Psyche who was claimed to be more beautiful than herself. This makes her furious and ordered her son, Cupid to shoot Psyche with one of his magic arrows which would make her fall in love with the most hideous monster on earth. However, Cupid has failed to accomplish his mission and pricked himself with the arrow instead. And yeah, Cupid falls in love with Psyche. However, the story doesn't end here. Cupid and Psyche will be facing many obstacles and challenges to be able to be together for eternity. Will they succeed to overcome the challenges? Or maybe failed and will be condemned to the underworld by the gods?

So, guys and gals. I've decided to pick and make an acrostic poem about Psyche. I picked her because she is loyal to Cupid until the very end of the story. Even though some of her curiosity screwed the story by a bit, but I think she's a good pick. Anyway, here's the acrostic poem:

Pretty is all about her,
Sneaky, on her way to conceal the truth
Youthful, and wise, on her own way
Curious, of her husband's true face,
Harmless, and pure,
Endearing, on her beauty.

And we've reached the end of the blog. I wrote this because I found that these words are how I described Psyche's character. She is a pretty, sneaky, youthful, and yet curious woman. She's like, a good kind of partner that will always be on your side until you pass away ;-). Thank you for reading this post! Have a great day!

  1. Nice idea, Dimas. Just be careful with the color you chose. I can't see clearly the sentence in yellow color. :(
