Reading Suit Up!

(by: Dimas Purnama Adi Wicaksono, an UKSW student)

Greetings, my beloved blog readers! I would like to tell you guys a story I picked from Extensive Reading Central in this opportunity. The story is called "The Lion in a Farmyard" written by Pablo and it is a level 16.00 literature that also has around 120 words. The story is hilarious and so funny but also sad for some reason. I will tell you about the story as a menacing and fearsome lion, without any further ado, here goes!

Ah, what a beautiful day isn't it? This reminds me of the day when I entered a farmyard. Yes, you heard me right, a farmyard. Unfortunately, the Farmer saw me entering the farmyard. The Farmer tried to catch me. He shut the gate in front of me. I looked around and tried to understand the situation. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any way out from there. However, I didn't give up just yet. I saw a flock of sheep and a group of oxen. I straight up flew upon the sheep, slaughtered them, and attacked some oxen. The Farmer was still there, standing in fear as he watched his farm animals was being attacked by me. He started to be alarmed for his own safety, opened the gate, and released me. I ran off to the woods, but actually, I just went to spy on him to hear what would he do after the devastation I caused.

On his departure, the Farmer grievously lamented the destruction I caused to his sheep and oxen, but his wife, who had been a spectator to all that took place, said,

"On my word, you are rightly served, for how could you for a moment think of shutting up a Lion along with your farmyard when you know that you shake in your shoes if you only hear his roar at a distance?" Upon hearing it, I felt satisfied and went back to the woods. The End.

So this is it, guys and gals. What do you think about the story? Let me know in the comment. I hope you enjoyed this post! Have a nice day! :D
